Home Run Derby

Last night we were treated to another Home Run Derby, which for me is interesting for about 30 minutes then I start wondering when it will end. Everyone loves to see the Home Run ball, and there were some amazing blasts last night and the new kid Nelson Cruz looked like a veterean with his performance. Having said that, it is too long and too drawn out. The players by the end are tired, the fans are falling asleep. It needs to be shortened up, and new events should be added. What about a Throw to home contest by the outfielders? Base stealing contest?

I know these are unlikely too happen becuase of injury concerns, but you are playing a game where "This One Counts", so how abut spicing up the day before festivities? Until MLB changes something, for me it just serves as a rest day before the MLB All-Star Game.

National League will finally win tonite, thoughts tomorrow...
